03 eiger will idle but will die when throttle is pushed.cleaned carb and installed kit and new UNI air filter. still will not accelerate. Will rev only with choke on and misses while idleing. dont know what the float height should be.

Don't worry about the float height for now, check for vacuum leaks. Sure sounds like a vac leak.

thanks again woodsrunner. I will check for vac leaks at the boots and the seal at the head.

checked for vacuum leak by spraying carb clnr. on intake boot but did not notice change in engine speed. Tightened bolts holding intake to head and reinstalled gas tank etc. and ran outside. ( I was running on lift with fuel line and funnel only). Started running good as I rode it. reinstalled everything and shes good to go. Thanks again...

FYI, carb cleaner is not very combustible, and does not increase speed when added to the intake stream. Fact is, spraying carb cleaner down the throat of a carb with the engine running will flood the engine. That is how we decarboned the upper cylinders and valves of an engine in the old days, flood it with carb cleaner, let it soak a few hours, then run it hard to blow out the carbon. Starting one after flooding it out can be a PITA. LOL.

Regardless, your quad is running better, and that is all that counts. Good to hear that purr again, isn't it?

OK guys, sorry its been a while, but ive been taking care of other matters. checked for vacuum leaks and replaced the 2 o rings at the intake boot. Also went back and cleaned carb in soak and blew out jets, passages etc very good. still have stumble at higher acceleration. Do you think it may be the diaphragm not bringing the slide up ? Looks ok no apparent pinholes or hardening but I guess it could be malfunctioning. Any further help would be appreciated.

Since you installed a after-market high flow air filter, might be you have a slightly lean mixture at higher throttle openings now. If your carb main jet needle (located in the center of the piston) has grooves in it, try lowering the clip (one groove at a time) that fits in the grooves. This will raise the needle and give you more fuel at higher throttle openings. Also check the piston for free movement inside the carb body, and the main jet needle for dirt, ridges or grooves.

BTW, what was the "kit" you referred to in your very first post in this thread?
