My fenders on my 1987 Suzuki LT-4WD are cracked extremely bad, and I have been looking to repair them. I have found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DIRTBIKE-ATV-UTV-FENDER-REPAIR-PLASTIC-WELDER-KIT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43973QQihZ015QQitemZ250353662272QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVWbut I wanted your opinion on a product that will help mend the plastic.
Thanks

It might work, but make sure you have the same welding rod material as the fenders are made of. I know no one who has tried one of these yet, If you do and it is successful, please report back.

BTW, that is just a soldering iron with a special tip. You can buy a ultra-sonic plastics welder from Harbor Freight Tools for about the same money. Never seen one of them used either, but I like the idea better than a soldering iron.

I've used the air/electric welders for years. I just use a cheap soldering gun and mend the crack together using a back and forth motion on the top side of the plastic and then weld the bottom side and reinforce in the weak areas (like the edge of the fender). Then grind the top off to a smooth finish with a dremel/etc.
