I have a 03 KFX 400 stock that keeps on back firing, I've takin the carb off and cleaned it placed an inline fuel filter on it replaced the spark plug. It only back fires at high rpms.

Thanks,

If it backfires when hard decelerating from high rpms, that could be too lean on the idle mixture or a dirty combustion chamber. If it backfires when running along at high rpms, adjust the valves.

And if that doesn't solve the problem, you may look for an exhaust leak.

Or you are hitting the rev limiter. If it's only doing it at high rpms (way high).
