I purchase this ATV with a bad tranny, it sat for about 3 months before I could put it in the shop, the tech said that I would have to get a new battery before it would run (right) so I purchased one but it still will not start the starter turns and the starter clutch turns but nothing else turns it acts like the starter is turning backwards, if you stand on the left side of the atv the starter is turning clockwise. Need help

I'm not 100% sure but most electric starters when hooked up the wrong way will turn backwards. What type of quad is it? i would change the cables on the starter around because most of them can spin both ways. do you hear the gear turning the engine? Or is it just a free type spin?

Did the people in the shop you put it in try to start it?
