i think i have to soften up my suspension a bit. we ride mostly woods and my rear end has a pogo stick effect. my owners manual dosnt talk about the suspension. so how do i adjust these shocks?

I don't have one but I am surprised that it is not mentioned in the manual. There should be a compression adjustment on the piggyback reservoir and the high speed compression maybe an adjustable nut surround the compression adjustmet (screw in the center). There will probably be an S and H for soft and hard. Adjust to your liking. Rebound is usually on the base of the shock. You can adjust the spring for pre load, you may have received a wrench to adjust the spring.

Now that I think about it, I cannot believe this is not covered in the manual.
