Neeed help. I bought a used 2005 yamaha raptor 660r with no operator book. Forgot to ask the seller. How do I engage reverse on this beast?

shift to first gear turn knob on right front fender to right and down shift again thats reverse. i think theres an indicaitor light

You don't have to be in first gear before you turn the reverse knob and start gearing down. All you have to do is, turn the reverse knob, on the right front fender, clockwise and then hold the clutch in while gearing down on the gear shifter. When reverse is engaged, the red R light will light up.

Sometimes its a little tough to get the clutch plates lined up. After trying to get it into reverse and it doesn't seems to find it, try giving a little throttle or even letting out the clutch in 1st gear a little so the plates engage a little more. Then retry reverse, it should fall in pretty easy after that.

true, you don't have to be in first the turn the knob. but u have to shift through 1st to get to reverse so u might as well turn the knob when your in 1st.

complete stop, shift to neutral, twist the reverse lever and while holding it turned, shift down again. It should go down one past first and you are in reverse! It has a rev limiter so won't go very fast backwards....if it pops and misses on you it is hitting the rev limiter. to go forward, just stop and shift up into first gear.

i disabled mine,reverse is pretty useless with the limiter
