I park my quad once we get 6 to 8 inches of snow and hop on the snowmobile. I like having the heated grips and windshield when it gets that cold.My 250R does ok in the snow with my Haulers on it, but still won't go very far once the powder starts building up. With the snowmobile you spend a lot more time riding and less time getting unstuck. If I had a utility quad and had the money to buy a set of tracks, I would use that money and buy a decent used snowmobile instead, sure the tracked quad would be able to go almost anywhere, but it would be much slower than the sled and colder to ride. I bought an old (1979) AC snowmobile for my son last summer for $100, then spent $150 on parts (m/c salvage yard) to get it running right. Now he can go just about anywhere in the snow without any trouble at all. I would never be able to find a set of tracks for an atv for what the used sled cost.

I would rather ride the ATV during the winter. Of course, I do live in Florida...
